Google PageRank Calculation Example 1 -
All Webpages Link with Homepage (Part 2)

This is the internal linking structure of your web pages - all web pages only link back to home page:

Internal Linking

After the first round of PageRank calculation, all web pages have a new PageRank number. Let's recall the table again:

  1 2
Home 1.00 2.70
Page 1 1.00 0.43
Page 2 1.00 0.43
Page 3 1.00 0.43
Total PR:
4.00 4.00
PR Loss:
0 0

Continue the PageRank Calculation.....

Remember that it needs to repeat doing the calculation for a certain number of times to get the final PageRank or at least getting a PageRank number close to the final PageRank. Let's start the second round of calculation. This time the new PageRank values that calculated in first round will be used.

Start from Home Page again.

PageRank Calculator

Same as before, write down the new PageRank number of Home Page in the table as shown below:

  1 2 3
Home 1.00 2.70 1.25
Page 1 1.00 0.43
Page 2 1.00 0.43
Page 3 1.00 0.43
Total PR:
4.00 4.00
PR Loss:
0 0

New PageRank Number of Web Page 1:

PageRank Calculator

Again, write down the new Google PageRank of Web Page 1 in the table:

  1 2 3
Home 1.00 2.70 1.25
Page 1 1.00 0.43 0.92
Page 2 1.00 0.43
Page 3 1.00 0.43
Total PR:
4.00 4.00
PR Loss:
0 0

New PageRank Numbers of Web Page 2 and Web Page 3:
Obviously, the new PageRank of Web Page 2 and Web Page 3 are same as Web Page 1. Therefore the results after the second round of PageRank calculation will become:

  1 2 3
Home 1.00 2.70 1.25
Page 1 1.00 0.43 0.92
Page 2 1.00 0.43 0.92
Page 3 1.00 0.43 0.92
Total PR:
4.00 4.00 4.00
PR Loss:
0 0 0

Repeat Doing Calculation.....
I think you should follow very well. Now repeat doing the PageRank calculations using the same method as before and you will get the following results:

  1 2 3 4 5 6 7
Home 1.00 2.70 1.25 2.48 1.44 2.33 1.57
Page 1 1.00 0.43 0.92 0.51 0.85 0.56 0.81

Tips:
As you should noticed that the PageRank values of all web pages come to stable after the 34 round of PageRank calculations. This is true that the PageRank values of all pages should be come to stable or at least close to stable after certain round of PageRank calculations no matter how many pages a web site has.

Results:
After 34 round of repeat doing the PageRank calculations, the final PageRank of your web pages are shown in the following diagram:

PageRank Calculator Results

Conclusion and Tips of PageRank Calculator:

  • By properly arranging the internal links, some web page(s) can achieve a higher PageRank than other web pages.
  • Incoming Links will increase the PageRank of a web page.
  • By linking smartly, a web site can achieve the Maximum PageRank (i.e. no PageRank Loss)
  • By linking improperly, a web site cannot achieve the Maximum PageRank (i.e. PageRank Loss)
  • To exceed the Maximum PageRank of a website, the only way is getting Incoming Links (Inbound links) from outside web pages with higher PageRank.
  • Links to outside web pages (Outbound Links) will leak PageRank of pages, thus decrease the Maximum PR of your website.
